ጀርመናዊውን የ17ኛው መቶ ክፍለ ዘመን ኦርየንታሊስትና የቋንቋ ሊቅ ህዮብ ሉዶልፍን ያውቁታል?

በግእዝ ቋንቋ ጥናትና የኢትዮጵያ ታሪክ እንደ "Historia Aethiopica" ያሉ ብዙ መጻሕፍትን ጽፈዋል።

በኢትዮጵያ ቋንቋ ጥናት ውስጥ ያበረከተው አስተዋጽኦና ፈር ቀዳጅ ስራዎቹ ለየኢትዮጵያ ታሪካዊ፣ ባህላዊ፣ የቋንቋ እና ሃይማኖታዊ የምርምር ስራዎች ጉልህ አስተዋጽኦ ነበራቸው።

ሩዶልፉ በመጽሀፉ ስለኢትዮጵያ ብዙ ጉዳዮችን አንስቷል ለምሳሌ በ17ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን ስለነበሩ የተለያዩ አውራጃዎችና ግዛቶት በስም ጠቅሶ አስረድቷል።

Ludolf based much of his history on a previous work by BaltazarTellez, but he also relied heavily on his Ethiopian friend አባ ጌርጎርዮስ to correct Tellez's information and add some new information. in 1649 and brought him to Germany for about half a year in 1652. Gorgoryos was possibly in Rome at that time because he had been one of the priests who sided with the Catholic Portuguese when the Jesuits tried to convince Emperor Susneyos to adopt Roman Catholic doctrine in Ethiopia
